Thelma & Louise (Commission for Candee Aaron)

I thought I had run out of animals to paint for Candee Aaron, (I've painted 9 portraits so far) but she surprised me with 2 more portraits to do of her sweet cats, Thelma & Louise. What beauties!

Here is the story of Thelma & Louise in Candee's words.  "We went to the pound and went to the kitten house and there were little kittens in there and we asked them if they would keep both of them until they were available the same day, and the guy said, "Oh honey, those are bided on those days." and I said, "That's not what I want to do. I want to adopt two that need homes." We remembered 2 older kittens sitting up front inside a cage. We walked over to them and they were about six months old and we took them out of the cage and they just loved on us, so that was it. John's mothers name is Velma and her twin was Thelma and he wanted to name them that, orB igum and Short, the twins nicknames, so I settled for Thelma  and Louise."

I love rescue stories! So, I've already picked the perfect rock, washed, patched, sanded, base coated, and the sketch ready, so now I can start painting. This is a going to be a big project with 2 cats on one stone, but twice the fun. Time to get started!
