This is Shomai, a beautiful exotic looking cat with huge ears! Shomai will be painted on a medium sized river rock for Melinda Spille to give to her brother Matt. Matt already knows I'm painting his cats, so the "cats out of the bag", so to speak. I will also be painting Shomai's buddy, Frodo, after I finish Shomai.
Here is the rock I have chosen for Shomai to accommodate those lovely big ears. It needs to be smoothed out with wood putty first before I can do the base coat, which I will do now.
