My nephew from California flew in late last night to spend the weekend with us. It's so nice to see him again.

We started our new smoker with the pork at 9 a.m. this morning and it smells so good already! Should be ready around 3:30 - 4 p.m. this afternoon. It's an electric smoker that hubby found at Home Depot for around $80. My mother-in-law got one recently and any meat that you put in there and cook is so tender and just melts in your mouth. You just add a bit of water every few hours and flavored wood chips soaked in water later in the process. There are 2 racks and a metal bowl at the bottom for the water to steam. We bought the rib and potato rack, too. We added a thermometer for the temp, but it stays a bit over 200 degrees all day. Better than anything you will eat at a restaurant, and so much cheaper!
