Hubby and I found this old headboard at Ashley Furniture a few years ago. It was in the back room because the glass shelves were missing. (If you didn't know, ask what they have in their back rooms. That's where the great deals are at on furniture that may have a small scratch or something minor they don't want to put on the showroom floor.) They let us have it for a steal at $50. So...finally I had hubster cut some pine shelves and then I stained them over the weekend. I think they turned out great and took only a little over an hour to do! Now, I can put all of my favorite books on the shelves for the guest room...mostly art books and other favorites that have been boxed up. A great place to relax on rainy and drowsy afternoons to snuggle up with the dogs and cats or to just look through some old books for art ideas to spark my imagination.
