Happy New Year!
It's 39 degrees and will reach 59 degrees today.
There will be a lot of changes this year at RiverRockArt Studio. One, main change, which I'm not too happy about is having to go with a different internet service. I will be calling WildBlue today to set up an appointment for them to come out later in the week to setup their service at the new house. I chose them over HughesNet because I want to be able to talk to customer service here in the states and not in India if I have any problems. With the Fair Usage Act with both of these companies I will be restricted on monthly usage and download speeds among other things, so I will have to get used to that and watch my usage every day or I will get slowed down to a crawl where I can't do much of anything. This is going to affect how I do everything, including my blog. I've come to the conclusion that I will probably do a monthly blog and let you all know what I did during that particular month with a few photos instead of a weekly blog like I did last year. I'll just play it by ear until I see how it all works. I know there is a meter that I can check every day, although I've heard that it's not really accurate, so I'll have to be careful.
In January, I do have several commissions, but I will be sending just a few progress photos to my customers by email and not here on my blog. I guess the good thing about having bad internet service is that I will be able to get more painting done by not being on the computer all day. lol This year I plan on making more holiday rocks and have scheduled time on my calendar this year to make them instead of trying to squeeze them in between commissions like I did last year, which didn't work out well. I have also been approached to help write an e-book with a fellow artist of mine, so we'll see how that goes.
So, I'm squeezing the last few days out of my current internet service while I have it and I will let you know when I'm on WildBlue.
On a sad note...yesterday our old kittie Blue passed over rainbow bridge. She passed in her sleep curled up in a little ball. We buried her by her buddy Bootsie and now they can be together forever. Blue was almost 19 years old and Bootsie was 18. Blue still purred, got up every day to eat, then slept mostly in her last days. She will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, little one. You were a loving kitty and we will miss those beautiful crystal blue eyes and your gentle nature.
I wish everyone happiness and health in 2013. May we all be blessed! I'll talk to you soon!
