It's been such a hot week and Little Baby has found a cool spot on my Baby Grand piano...now adorned with cat hair. lol My mom taught all 3 of us girls to play the piano when we were young, and my dad started teaching me to draw when I was around 3-4 years old. I'm so blessed to have such talented parents. My mom taught piano for years, and dad had to give up his art when he was really young to start a family and take care of us all. With 3 boys and 3 girls, he just didn't have the time to draw anymore. Now, after all of these years, he has been making metal sculptures for family members. I'm so glad that he has time to do that, now that we all are grown up and have families of our own.

This afternoon, I will be able to finish the "secret" Christmas commission, and then I'm going to start packing up a bunch of things in my studio to get ready for the move to the new house. It will probably take a month or more just to pack up everything in the house and our storage sheds. I've set a couple of weeks to the side on my commission calendar in September for the move and all of the weekends until we are completely moved out. It's going to get crazy around here, and I have commissions that need to get done in between.

Until then, I'll keep painting! It's time to get to work!
