Father's Day...

Happy Father's day to my dad! If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be the artist I am today. He had an old trunk with pencil drawings that I would open up from time-to-time and look at his art. He drew Native Americans on horses, the famous praying hands, and other animals. He was very detailed in his art, and his pencil drawings were beautiful. I wanted to be as good as he was and sketched in my bedroom for hours at a time.

At a very young age at around 4-years-old, he started to teach me how to draw animals, and I haven't stopped since. He taught me about the skeletal and muscular structure of animals, and showed me how to improve on my pencil drawings while growing up. He was quite the artist himself when he was young, but all that changed when he married my mom and just got too busy raising all of us kids (6), and still farms today. He is a hard working man, and I'm proud to call him my father. He is in his eighties now, and in his spare time he makes metal sculptures. Thanks dad, for all you taught me!
