The followup appointment yesterday was all good. I got a copy of the full report. The large mass was growing on my right ovary and my left ovary had lesions and some other cysts and things starting in other areas, so it was good that everything was removed. (Post-op full hysterectomy/large mass removal/benign) He said I'm a really fast healer on the outside and that my incisions looked great! The belly button incision needs more time to heal. Three more weeks before I start regaining my energy levels back. The fatigue is really getting to me, so dang tired. Iron supplements were suggested along with B and C vitamins and a good multi-vitamin. I asked if I can start lifting weights again, and I can, but only the 5 pound weights for my arms and I can use the elliptical glider for longer periods of time. I want to get my strength back and start getting toned up again, so I'll start slowly. I can see I've lost some muscle in my upper arms and legs from lying around so much. I bought a good athletic stomach support wrap with adjustable Velcro. I slept with it on last night and felt more comfortable. I'd been using a body pillow and other pillows to support my stomach (I lay on my side when I sleep) and keep my back/neck aligned and it wasn't working too well, so now I'm glad I found a good solution to sleep better. It can take from 6 months to a year to be fully healed inside. He kept reminding me...it was MAJOR surgery, so don't be in such a hurry to do things like before...and I know this by now and have accepted it...a little. lol Anyway, each day is getting better. Soooooooooooo much better than 3 weeks ago. All is well and I'm so thankful!
