Starting base colors...

10/27/2011

Starting the base colors. Little Baby is doing her job today as "Quality Control Supervisor." She's very interested in the process. hahaha

It will take me awhile to get all the base colors layered in, and I will continue working on them for the rest of the afternoon. They are the foundation for the entire portrait, so it's important to take the time and get them right. So...things will look pretty rough until I start on the detail tomorrow.

This slate piece weighs in at a hefty 11 pounds and it's 1 inch thick. My Lazy Susan will be a great help to move this piece around while I'm painting.

Back I go...
