I'm all for advice from others. My friends and customers would like me to think about publishing a how-to book.
In the past I was throwing around the idea of writing a book on how I do my rocks. The only problem was...how on earth could I afford to do something like that let alone the time it would involve. That was 10 years ago with a big gap of all those years flipping houses with my husband.
Now that I'm back doing my art full-time while the real estate market recovers, and with all the technology that has changed since then, I'm thinking of doing some downloadable how-to books on different rocks that I paint. I would make them available for a reasonable fee, and that would allow me to be my own publisher. All I would need is someone to proofread and check all my grammar and punctuation, which I'm not that great at sometimes. It's a good thing that I know so many professional Medical Transcriptionists that do that every day that could help. lol
I know I already show a lot on my blog when I'm painting, but I think it's necessary to show what I'm doing to keep people coming to my site. Some of my friends think I should save the start to finish of my rocks for the e-books to generate more income. I think it's a great idea, but I will always keep my blog active with some photos! I'll let you know when the first e-book is ready. It may be awhile...I have so much to do already!
