Massive Dust Storm in AZ

7/6/2011

Last night while we were coming home, we got caught on the freeway by the tail end of this massive dust storm while driving on Interstate 10. It was frightening to say the least, but we made it home safely. Scary stuff!

This was something else to see, especially fast. I watched another one where this guy filmed it while standing outside his home, then stayed outside while it was going on. Looked neat, but I wondered later if it was the wisest thing to do since he was getting beaten up by the sands swirling in the wind and his camera had to be taking some kind of sand damage.

I saw that too. It was no fun getting caught on the freeway in it either. It was behind us, and caught us off guard. We were so happy to make it home safe.
