I'm starting the base color for Kinto's river rock. I leave the area on the bottom of the rock unpainted to show that it is indeed a rock and will sign my signature and date it when I am finished. Rachel also would like me to paint Kinto's tattoo number on the bottom of the rock that was on his ear. I will do a cinnamon brown color over the entire rock and then do the pencil sketch after the paint dries. I will apply 2-3 coats of paint until it is a solid color. All the layers of the brindle markings will be painted over this color when I start the detail later on.
